Product overview
Silica brick is made of silica raw material contains no less than 96% SiO2, adding mineralizing agent and binder, through mixing, molding, drying, firing and other processes. The content of SiO2 is above 94%. It is mainly an acidic refractory composed of tridymite, cristobalite and a small amount of residual quartz and glass phase. It has a strong erosion resistance to the acid slag or acid liquid. The raw material of silica brick is natural silica.The higher the content of SiO2, the higher the refractoriness.
The high refractoriness under load is an excellent characteristic of the silica brick, which is generally 1640 ~ 1670℃. The volume of the silica brick is relatively stable in long-term use under high temperature. The volume of the silica brick is very stable during 300 degree to Close to the melting point. and produces has about 1.5% ~ 2.2% volume expansion when it is heated to 1450℃, which is beneficial to ensure the structural strength and air tightness of the masonry structure.The biggest disadvantage of silica brick is poor thermal shock resistance (water cooling cycle times are generally 1 ~ 4 times), followed by low refractoriness (generally 1690 ~ 1730℃).
According to the application, the silica brick is divided into silica bricks used in coke oven , hot blast furnace, and glass furnace and so on. Coke oven silica brick is mainly used for carbonization chamber, combustion chamber, re-generator, ramp and roof of coke oven (about 73% of refractories used in a coke oven are silica bricks). Silica brick for hot blast furnace is mainly used in the roof , partition wall and upper part of re-generator top of large hot blast furnace, Silica brick for glass furnace has the high content of silica and low flux factor, is mainly used in crown, breast wall, tuck stone, port and re-generator crown of glass kiln.

Silicon brick - precautions for use
When the working temperature is lower than 600~700℃, the volume of the silicon brick changes greatly, the performanceof anti cold and hot and the thermal stability is poor, If the coke oven works at this temperature for a long time, the masonry is easy to break.
